Sony a7s and color shifts problem

PostThu Jul 30, 2015 7:03 pm

Wondering if anyone has seen come across problems with a7s source material have a sudden color shift during a take. I am consistently having a sudden shift where in the middle of a take the color has an immediate one frame shift towards magenta. Skin tones make the jump to magenta by about three martinis. I can see the jump on scopes when I step through the frames.

I am working from a conform run out of premiere so not the original files but the S-Log passes through and do not think this is an NLE issue. They recorded internal cards 1080.

Chris, I've seen level shifts caused by inadvertent auto gain settings, and I've also seen catastrophic issues caused by lack of infrared filters. Does it affect the entire picture at once, or is it a random, non-linear frame effect?

Have I mentioned I hate working with these toy cameras? :|

I often would see skin tones from the A7 split between magenta and green. Definitely not impressed with that camera. And SLog makes the problem worse.
