XML issues

PostThu Jul 30, 2015 8:14 pm

Just discovered the joys of Resolve since Apple Color never made changes. Now here is my new dilemma.

imac 27 mid 2010 I3
16gb of ram
editing an hour long dvd for a comedy gig we shot.

FCPX10.2.whatever is the newest out

Issue as it stands is that the folder that containts the project is about 500 gb. I export the xml but when loading that xml to resolve it acts as though it wants to load. I get the project screen and click ok and literlly it ran overnight and never brought up anything. it sat on the screen with the beach ball as if it was processing.
WTF am I doing wrong here?

Resolve treats XMLs as instructions and so when u export your XML from FCPX it shouldn't include media. On the Resolve edit page right click on the media pool and from the list select timeline, import, XML. Then follow the prompts to import the XML, find the media if it's not in the exact location and Resolve will relink to the media and conform the timeline.

I'm assuming you are on resolve 11.3.2 as it supports the latest FCPX XML.
