As I was writing this message, the functionality returned to me, but for a while I was unable to access the edit field for both markers and flags. I couldn't paste into it either. Curiously, the Paste item in the context menu was active, but would not work.
Like I said though, as I was creating the message, it just started working again. I thought I'd post anyway in case it's something to be looked into.
