CacheClip Delete

I want to delete the media in my CacheClip folder to save data space. If I trash the folders inside the CacheClip folder will I have issues? I'm hoping after trashing when I open a project it will re-generate the proxy files in the CacheClip folder.

thanks,
Jim

You can delete the whole folder and it will just re-create it next time you need to cache.

i tend to do cache managment at the OS level too, i have a problem beliveing what the tools inside Resolve say...

i make a cache folder for each project, and then a cache folder inside that for specfic use, ie on a film that i'm working on in ACES, i'll set once cache folder to DNxHR@Lq, and one to EXR16float, and use the DNx for conform issues and cutting in VFX / titles / stock, then comment out that folder, and point Resolve to the EXR cache folder when i grade and finish.

recently itried to delete unused in Resolve, windows said i had 4.7Tb of caches in folders that i knew were not needed, it took Resolve a bit over an hour, and when it was done i had 4.3Tb of unneded caches left over, and it deleted around 400gig in total

so i deleted the other 4.3Tb at the OS level, took about a min or so...

not sure what paramiters Resolve is using for it's cache managment, but it's still early days, and keeping folders sperate and easy to find / delete seems like a safe pratice

Oh that's nothing - I have a 10TB CacheClip haha!! On a 40TB RAID - 1/4 of the entire drive!! Deleting now, thanks for confirming I won't have issues! This was helpful.
