DaVinci's media browser won't display a folder named "proxy" but the folder will display as soon as I rename it to something else like "proxya".

I really would like to have my proxy folder named "proxy".

Would that be feasible?

I created same topic few weeks ago and got response that this is normal behavior of DaVinci. Just dont name your folder like Proxy. Try something else

Try this: PROXY

It works for me....

Note: I name all media folders in caps, with no spaces and no more that eight digits long.

i can confirm exactly the same bug.

i now call my "proxy" folder "proxies" and that makes it visible in the media browser.

does anyone know how we can report this as an offical bug?

i don't think i am alone when i say ... i'd rather name my assets, according to my workflow. folders that disappear, because of their name, is a bug, not a really feature :D

I'm on 17.1.1, Centos 7.x, and this one is still a formidable headache.

this is not a bug
DR use the name "proxy" for internal directorys in the database

it is the same why you should not use "tmp" or "private" and so on, at the operating system level

On my Sony, new footage is stored under "Private" by default in the memory card. IMHO this is a bug, and there should be a way to make it visible other than by renaming it. I don't remember this occurring before, only after the latest update, is it possible?
