Adding fonts to Resolve 12

Hi Everyone,

I'm struggling to add new fonts to Resolve. I have a client who created two custom fonts for a project and I cannot get Resolve to see them. That said, this is the first I've tried to add fonts, I'm certain I've got something wrong somewhere. Actually I just did a test and the fonts are not showing up in Pages or Text Edit either. That said does this look right?

Here is my process thus far.

Client (who created in Illustrator), provides 2 .otf fonts.
I converted the .otf to ttf using Cloudconvert.com (because maybe Resolve only likes .ttf?)
I then placed all the fonts (4 total) in my HD>Library>Fonts folder

Now when using the text generator, I don't see the fonts available in the Font Family drop down. For that matter I see lots of fonts in that folder that I don't see in Resolve.

What am I missing? I've tried to research if Resolve uses a different folder for its fonts, did not find anything. I Scoured computer to see if I could find any other possible font folders to try, nothing. Its possible there is an issue with the font files themselves.

I would greatly appreciate any feedback. Thanks a lot!

Yes! Thanks so much! Font Book, I had no idea about that app. Looking good now.

Cheers!

An "attaboy": my complete, eclectic(!) collection of fonts, including my personal fav, Tekton, are all available for titles fixed or scrolling. This is under Win 10. (Some of these fonts probably go back to Win XP and maybe Win 95)

Good on ya!

Thanks. Does this also apply to the Windows operating system? We just add the fonts into the Windows fonts folder?

If you have standard .ttf font files, just right click them and select Install.

If they appear in the Fonts control panel, Resolve should see them.

If you add them while Resolve is running, Resolve will need to be restarted to see them.

Dwaine, at one time the font list pulldown actually previewed each font. That doesn't happen anymore. Do you know what happened, and if this feature will be brought back? Thanks so much!

BTW, here's a link to a discussion on the topic and a screen grab that shows the font list using the actual fonts in a previous version of Resolve. Thanks again.
