Problem with layout Color Tab

PostMon Dec 19, 2016 2:56 pm

Hi,

Maybe my question is a little stupid, but I have looked everywhere for an answer.... cannot find the solution.

In the Color Tab, the lower part of the screen normally there are 3 windows.
1. The color wheels etc.
2. Selection, curves and tracking etc.
3. Scopes and keyframes.

I don't know how, but since a few days I only have 2 windows.
1. Color, selection, tracking etc.
2. Scopes and keyframes...

Well... It is quite annoying to work that way.
Does anybody know what could be the problem?
(I work on a MacBook Pro 15'')

Thanks!!

welcome.

two ways:
there is a [reset UI] in one of the drop menu

and

in that lower third, one of the icon in the far right, look like four arrows that is used to zoom out: press it and it will zoom back showing the third middle page

If you screen is lower than 1680 (or 1920) pixels wide, you get only two palettes at the bottom.

On the current MacBook Pro your res is 1440 wide, so unless you run your desktop in a scaled mode, you get two palettes at the bottom.

Thank you very much for the replies.

I have experimented with the screen resolution now. Even after a reset UI settings it doens't make any difference, except the resolution of course. But the layout stays the same.

Is this something new in Resolve? I can remember that I had the "normal" MacBook resolution and still 3 palettes in Resolve.
Strange... ?!?!

I will experiment further

The default resolution of the 15" 2016 MBP is 1680x1050, and I am only getting 2 panels at the bottom. Is this expected, when you say 'lower than 1680' do you in fact mean 'lower than or equal to'?

Laptops are not ideal for Resolve, particularly with resolutions this low.

Ho everybody
I’m experiencing the same problem. My monitor is set to 4K resolution but I still have two panels instead of the normal three configuration.
Any suggestions?
Thanks

Is it still the case if you reset the UI layout from the Workspace menu?

Just ran across this problem and fixed it for my mbp and wanted it indexed on this page.

In system preferences>Diplay, Select "scaled" for resolution. Click on the small text "more Space" (may be just selecting higer resolution on some monitors).
If this does not automatically make resolve reset UI on restart and fix problem, try reset UI in resolve after that.

I had this problem for a while, and reset UI layout solved it. Thanks for the tip.

I have the same problem.

My macbook pro resolution is already set to the highest ("more space" 1680x1050), also Reset UI layout didnt resolve the issue.

Anything else I could try?

With all due respect, how's that solving the problem? As far as I know DR is supported on laptops, the day they will discontinue the support I'll stop asking.

You can use an app like SetResX to increase the resolution further, 2048x1280 is enough to have 3 panels at the bottom.

Got it:

A. I believe you need a wide enough screen to support the 3 panels across the bottom (I'm guessing around 1080px from when the option becomes available)
B. You need to have the keyframes editor open on the bottom right of the "Color" tab (Highlighted in orange)
C. Click the "Split Primary and Secondary Views" button (Highlighted in Green) on the keyframes panel.

I found reference to this in page 2506 of "Davinci Resolve.pdf" manual for Resolve 17, although it doesn't highlight that very hidden button in Part C

That split Primary and Secondary views button is greyed out.... does nothing.
Screen resolution is 1920 wide... any suggestions?

This is what I see in Studio 17.4.1 in Windows on a 23" 1920x1080 monitor.
