I saw a tutorial and it had the fonts Type face displayed in the Inspector, why I can't activate that on DavincinResolve 14 v7 and now v8, it would be much easier to scroll down the font list and WYSIWYG.
Can you post a link to the tutorial? (I've never seen in Resolve a font list using each font's typeface.)
In the meantime, NexusFont is pretty good free font display program. But of course the ability to see fonts and easily preview titles while cycling through fonts would be nice.

I saw it on YouTube, it's a Ripple Training video tutorial DaVinci Resolve in Under 5 Minutes: Creating Animated Titles Presented by the one and only Alexis Van Hurkman May 5, 2015 - 90,014 views
at 1:15 you can see it happening, but that was Resolve 12, why not have it in 14.
If it's not available in 14, I think it should be, Adobe Premiere users will rely on Adobe illustrator to fine tune a heading or a tilt, if it's not available in Premiere, but DaVinci Resolve Users wouldn't have to leave the application if font management was given more attention. I use Affinity Designer to create my fonts designs, more affordable than Adobe illustrator. But I hope to see a more robust font management in Resolve 14, I guess one of us has to reach Alex and ask him about that tutorial, and hopefully he can push for adding it on.
I just saw this same pulldown behavior while rewatching a Resolve 12 Lynda video by Patrick Inhoffer. What do these guys know?? Was this actually a feature of Resolve 12?

I saw that as well yesterday at Lynda.com. Unless they have a plug or an add on. I did though write my suggestion as I downloaded the new beta 9 for Resolve today, I asked for a better font management and display of Font style. Hopefully the more people mention that, maybe it will turn up in the next beta.
I did write an email to Alex Van Hurkman, once I get a repose I'll post his reply.
I recently switched to Resolve from FCPX, and I would like to continue with Resolve. So far it is an all-in-one robust video editing application, with a font management it will make it stand out.
Premiere and FCP have a Font style display, this is from a screen shot from my FCP copy. its much faster to view the font as you are selecting, rather than having to place on timeline and see how it looks.

I promised to post about the outcome of my inquiry to DaVinci Resolve support team. They replied to me today: "After performing some testing the support team has confirmed that Font style (WYSIWYG) was present in earlier Resolve 12.x builds. It will forwarded as a feature request for Resolve 14."
