Resolve and Phantom Flex 4K Color Shift

Hey there,

couple of times I had a strange color shift in Phantom Cine files. The issue appears in 14 and 12.5 aswell. Comfort Silverstack has the same interpretation of the material, but in premiere it looks more like the RAW I expected.
It is seen, that the blue channel is is really low, sometimes that low, that you only can see it, if you desaturated the footage by 99%.
I imported the files in many ways, even the log1 or log2 mode is not the solution
Does someone experienced the same?

I attached screenshots and I am happy for any kind of help to understand where is the difference in interpreting the material.

Thanks Chris

Probably you camera is using profile which is newer than SDK in Resolve, so it's not properly handled/recognised.
If manual Log settings don't help not much what you can do, except put it as bug/limitation, so BM can try to fix.
Try also free Scratch Play and check how it handles it.
It definitely Premiere which is more correct (or simply correct).

Thank you, I tried Scratch Play and it shows the kinda same issue. The colors are more magenta there.

The Camera is the Phantom Flex4K by Vision Research. Can I give you some more information?

Thanks

Yep, same issue. It's imported over CSP plugin, which is not alway accurate.

Was this never addressed in 14.3?
Is it an issue in 15.b7?

Any update about this topic ?

I own a flex4k and have been using Resolve extensively to read raw .cine files.
I don't remember having any colour shift in Resolve, and the only time I had chance to use silverstack, files appeared also unshifted.

Did someone try the colour managed mode ? Does it change something ?

I assume that raw tab is correctly set, since it DOES work even when grading is bypassed...

Hello,

This problem just happened to me today.
I thought it was solved because I didn't have it since a long time ago.

So my footage appeared like this :

But really it should look like this :

Image

I'm using Davinci Resolve Studio 16.8.2,
I'm on MacOs Mojave 10.14.6 / AMD FirePro D700 6 Go / 2,7 GHz 12-Core Intel Xeon E5.
The footage seems to be Phantom (I don't know for sure which cam) in .cine 2048x1152.

I'm going to make some test with the Color Management but if you have any idea !

Thank you !
