I upgraded DaVinci Resolve to 14.0.1 (downloaded 7 Sept 2017) from Resolve 12.5. I then upgraded the database. When I start Resolve I can choose to make a new project but the actual Resolve window never shows. I can see that the program in running in Windows TaskMgr but I cannot switch to it and I have to cancel the task to restart Resolve (which still does not show past the choose project screen). I have attached the Resolve logs as required.

Are you on Windows 10?
What GPU is installed?

Ah, the Quadro 4000 is a CUDA v2.0 card. you need a 3.0 minimum for CUDA.

Before starting a new project, go to DaVinci Resolve preferences and select OpenCL in the system, hardware, Image processing dropdown.

Hi. I also have a Dell T5500 with NVIDIA Quadro 4000 and Windows 10.

DR 12.5 runs very well set to CUDA.

Q1 Does DR 14 run as well on OpenCL as DR 12.5 on CUDA?

Q2 What card would I need to put into my machine to run DR 15, 16 or 17?

Here are my specs:

Dell Precision T5500
Windows 10 Professional, 64 bit
Intel Xeon X5650 @ 2.67GHz and 2.66GHz (2 processors)
48 GB RAM
DirectX 11
M-Audio Delta 1010LT Sound Card
NVIDIA Quadro 4000 Graphics Card

Thanks in advance,

Seamus
