Gradual blur

PostWed Oct 25, 2017 5:40 pm

HI, I'm new to video editing and have the standard version of Resolve 14. I'm creating a 4 minute short film for one of our properties using a drone. For the last sequence I'm looking for a gradual blur out over about 8 seconds.
I know where the Blur tab is in colour but I can't figure out if I can do a gradual blur though - from zero blur to full blur.
Any help will be appreciated. Cheers

Use a Power Window to contain the blur, and then soften the edges of the window to soften the effect. This can work very well, but you'll need to experiment to determine where to put the blur exactly where you want it.

Hi Les,

you need to use a keyframe in the color page to set a start blur amount and 8 seconds later add a keyframe with an end blur amount. Search for keyframing in the user manual and all will become clear.

Thanks Marc but I've gone down the Keyfrasme route. Easy enough to do and looks a nice fadeout. Here's hoping the boss like it!!!!! The project is for a presentation I'm doing and this can go on in the background.

Cheers guys
