Change to default project settings

PostFri Nov 17, 2017 1:03 am

Hey Guys,

Whenever I start a new project I need to go into project settings and change them to suit, is there any way to change the default settings so that it's all set when I start a new project?

Thanks

John.

You can save different project configs as presets. Pages 64-84 in the manual.

I go a step further and save empty "Project Templates" for specific frame rates and types of formats, like a 1080i commercial vs. a 4K 23.98fps feature. This way, I can have all my bins, timeline structures, prefs, settings, frame rates, window sizes, color spaces, broadcast-safe clips, and so on all setup in advance. I open one of these, do a Save-As with the new project name, and start working.

You can also import the blank template from a saved .drp and then right click on that template in the Project Manager window to load the settings into the current active project.

You can also go to the Presets section, right-click on the Current one (or a saved one) and select use as Default. Then every time you start a new project it will use those project settings.
