Side grade from App Store DR purchase?

PostSat Nov 18, 2017 12:27 am

I purchased a $499 App Store Davinci Resolve license last year and did not realize there were differences in the BMD version and the App Store version or that the App Store version could only be updated via the App Store. I'd prefer to work directly with BMD and since the license is now $299 is there a way to "side grade" to the BMD license? I don't mind paying the $299 but hate to waste the $499 license I have if not necessary. Thanks for any direction on this!

I doubt it. Just think of those who spent 1000.00 for Resolve shortly before the price drop.

Now you can be happy knowing that for another 299.00, you can have two licenses instead of 1:)

Think in terms of the big picture. I paid 1000.00 dollars about 5 or 6 years ago, and haven't spent another dime on the software. Not many other software companies allow that to happen.
As I type this my two Avid maintenance agreements are coming up in about a month :(

Agreed. It is not a problem buying the second license. I just wanted to make sure there was not a way to change my existing license first, since I don't really need two licenses. But that may change! Thanks for the reply.
