Numerically move Playhead?

Is there a way to numerically move the playhead in the edit timeline? Or is this not a feature. In some NLE"s typing in the timecode display window on the timeline or hitting + or - and entering a value will move the playhead to that timestamp.

Already using markers and marker short cuts, need to be able to move a set amount forward or back. Using SHIFT + , or . would work if I could change the value beyond 5 frames. (this I haven't researched much -- too far behind after searching for a way to numerically move the playhead).

Thanks much.

Select the timeline viewer, type + 5.01 enter to move the playhead 5 seconds and one frame. etc.

Ahhhhhhhhh!

So simple. (Isn't it always?)

I figured out / assumed I could change the multiframe nudge length under preferences/user/editing/general settings but this wasn't working well for what I'm doing as I part of the time would need the nudge to space takes or shots (for a stringout) a set number of seconds, which would be too big a nudge setting for scrolling through the takes to place markers to identify rolling takes -- so I'd have to go back into the preferences to change the number of frames for the fast/multiframe nudge.

anyway--

THANK YOU!

Is there a shortcut key to select the area of the timeline viewer where +5.01 or other value gets entered?
Otherwise I have to click it all the time.

It works based on whichever window is active. Record/Source/Timeline. There is no need to select a timecode area to enter values.

Can I change the format in which I enter the number of minutes or frames or milliseconds to move in the timeline viewer window?

I figured it our experimentally that it is the significant figure and then a point (in this case not a decimal point) and then other orders of magnitude represented by zeroes. Very confusing way to enter a value.

You can only type timecode values HHMMSSFF
You do not need to type any other characters to seperate the numbers. Leading zeros can be ignored.
This is the same as the way Avid and other editing software have been doing timecode entry for many years.

The Resolve User Manual has DETAILED information about timecode entry. RTFM

Thank you.
And to find something in the manual I need to know the exact terminology that they are using to describe it.
For this reason I had better luck with youtube tutorials.
Please consider that YouTube has a more modern search algorithm than a manual.

And if I don't have a name for something that is visual and does not have a written name or mouse hover suggestion to it, how would I know the official name?

Is there a shortcut that makes official names of graphical buttons pop us so I can look them up in the manual?

Maybe an interactive generic index to the manual where you could jump to an explanation/command instruction by clicking one of several words which describe the same common operation/edit situation? I also find pdf manuals frustrating. In order to find the answer to this timecode question I tried the manual, youtube tutorials and finally asked google to arrive at the forum topic.

I have the latest Resolve 17 Beta 9 and I always have to click to the timecode field to be able to enter the time. From the discussion above it seems this should not be necessary, I also read the manual (available only for 16 AFAIK) and no clicking to the field is mentioned there. Yet when I start typing number or with +/-, nothing happens. Is there any enable/disable for this feature? I don't see anything indicating that.

Use the equals key - either on the numeric pad or below the function keys.

Plus and Minus keys are functional on the Edit (both in the Source and Timeline Viewers depending on focus) and Fairlight page.
