What happen to "use GPU for RED debayering" checkbox?

PostWed Dec 20, 2017 5:44 pm

Now (14.1 &14.2) it's gone, right?
Is it only CPU?
Is it only GPU?
Always use both?
Thanks

Yes, it's gone.

It now uses GPU when it can and reverts to CPU if it needs to.

Is there no way to force this? I can't get some RED footage to play on my Mac Pro trash can but on my laptop with 12.5 it plays only when I uncheck that box. It seems 14 is trying to use the GPU and not realizing it's not working so it's not switching to CPU.

EDIT: Nevermind. More searching through the forum and this issue and I changed GPU mode to Metal and it plays back now. Thanks anyway.

Is it the same for other RAWs
Or Compressed RAWS like Sony X-OCN ?
