Select and Pen Tool Shortcuts

PostFri Jan 05, 2018 8:46 am

Hello all!

I'm migrating over from Premiere Pro to Resolve 14 for Editing.

2 tools that I'm missing and can't find an alternative in Resolve are:

1. Arrow select tool to select all clips after where I click with the arrow.
In P.Pro this was a double arrow icon.
I can't work out how to quickly select a section of the timeline and moving all clips forward beyond that point. A quick way of moving a chunk of clips out the way to make room for editing half way through the timeline..

2. Also, no pen tool for manipulating the volume in the Audio section.
I'm used to dropping three pen point markers then dragging the middle one up of down to manipulate the volume.
An easy fix. These could be potently be used in the Edit and Fairlight pane.

Apart from that.
Resolve 14 is incredibly.
Bringing Grading and Editing into one mindset is inspiring!

Thanks for any thoughts or suggestions!

Steve, just to let you know, Alt Y will select all clips on all *tracks* going forward.

I believe "A" will chose the normal selection (cursor) tool, and "T" changes to Trim mode. "Y" will select all clips forward on one track, and "Shift-Y" selects all clips forward on all tracks.

Note that in Prefs -> User -> Keyboard Mapping, you have the option to choose "Premiere Pro" for compatible keyboard shortcuts if you're comfortable with those specific modes.
