DaVinci Resolve QSV Support - Intel Hades Canyon

I am hoping BlackMagic will consider giving support to Intel's QSV encoding and decoding inside Iris graphics in their upcoming 8th generation Hades Canyon. This will have a performance gain and benefit by reducing CPU processor resource for timeline scrubbing etc.

I have been an avid fan of using Intel's Skull Canyon with DaVinci Resolve to date. I am even more so looking forward to a greater experience using Resolve for NLE video production with the upcoming Hades Canyon product (Kaby Lake) when it releases in the spring and Coffee Lake beyond that. The fact Intel's Hades Canyon can even do VR and gaming this will surely be a notched up benefit for NLE video production with Resolve and promotional benefit for BlackMagic as well.
Cheers,

Resolve 14.2 already supports Intel QSV for h264 and h265 acceleration. You need the Studio version for it. The Studio version also supports NVIDIA based hardware acceleration if you have a GPU with more than 3GB VRAM.

Hi Rohit Gupta.

Thanks for your clarification on this matter. I use only the personal edition of DaVinci, so was not aware of design differential between the personal and studio editions of Resolve. I will need to deliberate in my mind and confirm whether or not there will be significant performance gain to justify upgrading to studio edition for just personal level use. Thanks again.

Thanks Rohit - I understand it's Studio only. Do you mean QSV acceleration for AVC/HEVC encoding (render) only or is also used for timeline decoding for edit/playback which would give us h.265 editing? The current 630 graphics has some powerful h.265/HEVC decoding features.
Also please give us the opportunity to test the Studio version on a 30 day trial like we can with Premiere, Edius, etc.
