Edit computer build advice

PostSat Feb 24, 2018 6:03 pm

The goal of this build is to edit and color grade 4k/8k footage in Davinci Resolve Studio and Premiere Pro. It will also be for Fusion Studio, After effects, and Lightwave3D. I will use this system professionally.

I have researched the config guide but it doesn't address the latest components. Any advice is welcome.

Priorities:
1. Hard drive RAID fast enough to supply footage. Right now I shoot Ursa mini 4.6k raw at 3:1 or 4:1.
2. Enough CPU power to decode any footage thrown at it. Right now that is 4k drone footage.
3. Enough GPU for effects processing.
4. adequate cooling and quiet.

Proposed:
Windows 10(I am using Win10Pro 64 on my current system) Is Win10 Home fine or should I stick with Win10 PRO?
Intel I9 7980XE 18 core
CPU cooler: Corsair Hydro Series, H150i PRO RGB, 360mm Radiator
Montherboard:
1. ASUS 299X prime deluxe Montherboard or
2. ASRock Fatal1ty X299 Pro Gaming i9 XE Motherboard (10Gbit Ethernet)

Nvidia GTX 1080ti x 2 (I will use a GTX960 with 4GB Vram that I already have until prices fall) I am working on 1080HD projects right now)
64GB DDR4 Memory probably 3600
1000w power supply( HX1000)
M.2 SSD 512GB system/program drive only. Samsung or Western Digital
4X 6TB WD Black (7200 rpm) striped RAID 0 on the motherboard RAID
be quiet! DARK BASE 900 ATX Full Tower Computer Chassis - Black
BlackMagicDesigns Intensity pro 4k PCI Card.

Thank You
