Relink to renamed source file?

Hi,
I'm just testing all potential pitfalls in workflow.
If a source files (such as audio) has been renamed. Is it possible to relink to it in Davinci?
I could relink to different folder, but I could not find a way to relink if a file name has actually changed.
And yes I know its BAD practice to rename the source:)

You can but the file needs to have some common metadata. This is why reel names and timecode is important.

That is interesting. So if you set metadata like reel on them then it could work. Do I just use the "relink" feature?

And if it doesn't, then make a new bin, import your target media that you wish to link to, and "Force" conform.

Thanks for the help. Will try. Sometimes I begin to meta tag my media only to later found out that the names could have been better

There are numerous ways to relink/reconnect in Resolve.

Look into the Reconform from Bin(s) command, which lets you check/uncheck conforming parameters including file name
