Hello,
I am new to Resolve. I have installed it on 2 different machines with different OS WIN 7 and 8. It seems to install ok but when i try to launch I get a ENTRY POINT NOT FOUND ERROR. Message says
The procedure entry point DeleteCriticalSection could not be located in the dynamic link library api-ms-win-core-synch-l1-2-0.dll

Any suggestions

Thanks

I am running windows 10 and have downloaded Davinci 5 Beta 2. The error I get is on startup is as follows.

Resolve.exe - Entry Point Not Found x
could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files\Blackmagic Design\DaVinci Resolve\Resolve.exe.

Is Resolve 15 beta 2 the first time you've installed Resolve on your system? Or was there an earlier version working?

Well, just saying "use Windows 10" on a forum reply is not a real solution.

- The Resolve 15 web page makes no mention of any Windows version requirement. It says it is supported on all major platforms. So I pointlessly downloaded a 1GB install program.
- The Resolve 15 installation program happily ran on Windows 7 Enterprise x64.
- That installation broke what was previously a functioning Resolve 14.
- I had to go do a web search and get to a forum to see that apparently between 14 and 15 support for Windows 7/8 was dropped.

If Resolve 15 only runs on Windows 10, then:

- The web page should list this requirement, certainly somewhere in the process before downloading.
- That requirement should note if there are Windows 10 version restrictions - will it work on LTSB? Home?
- The install program should check the OS and not install on unsupported versions, leaving any previous version intact.

But of course ideally 15 should run on Windows 7/8 - I and several people I work with were looking to move to Resolve from Premiere, but switching all systems to Win10 brings a host of other compatibility and admin issues with it - most notably the constant risk of turning on your laptop to do a customer demo, only to be presented with an indeterminate wait while it finishes installing upgrades.

Oh, and one more thing: previous Resolve versions should be readily available. After the 15 install did not work, I would have been SOL had I not saved my 14 setup file, or if system restore was not on for the installation drive (D: in my case). That would have left me with no way to access my Resolve 14 projects without upgrading my laptop to Win 10 - ouch.

Previous versions of Resolve, back to version 10.1.5, are available in the BMD web site Support area for DaVinci Resolve/Fusion.

I also ran into this issue just now.
Registered to your site and found this topic. Thank you. I'll un-install 15 and seek earlier version.
