When I went to upgrade Davinci Resolve I wanted to save the custom export presets I created. I don't see a way in resolve to do that, but I wanted to check if anyone else has any info. I also tried doing a file search of the name of the preset and it appears resolve doesn't create a file. I'm guessing it is saved in some config file or database. Do I really need to recreate all of my export presets every time I upgrade to a new version of resolve?
To my knowledge, yes -- Export Presets are not exportable. You also have to rebuild your Workspace configs your Data Burn-In Presets, and any Window shape presets as well. Keyboard Shortcuts can be exported and PowerGrades can be exported as DPX stills with DRX grades.

Import/Export "Delivery Presets" would be extremely useful. We have 13 edit bays that must have the exact same presets and we call them by name through Project Management Software.

Hey everyone, Just looking back into this Export or Share Presets, we just moved from Version 17 to 18 and the Presets did not come across when we upgraded our PostgreSQL Database. We also list our custom burn-in presets, if anyone knows how we can bring those over would be greatly appreciated.
Another +1 for this feature request. Dealing with a lot of freelancers who may not want to overwrite their entire DeliverPresetList.xml and if they were able to import a delivery preset it'd eliminate all guess work or easily overlooked parameters from screenshots.
A workaround to allow import project presets from one database to another is to import a Resolve project file which has the specific presets applied. The same can also be used to import the project into a newer version of Resolve. Presets are saved as part of the project file so they can be easily exported and imported to other workstations and databases.
Import the Resolve .drp file into the newly created database then navigate to the preset menu to save the project settings as a project preset within that database.
You can then delete the project if it is not needed in the new database.
It is a good practice to create template Resolve .drp files (without media ) which can be used to import project settings into older versions of Resolve which did not easily allow importing project presets.
