Interactive tracking mode stopped working

Since upgrading to Resolve 14.3 the tracker's interactive mode is simply getting ignored, at least when Perspective 3D is active. Whenever I use it to add a perfectly viable new area to track and populate it with points it just seems to ignore the new points and fail as before unless I deactivate 3D tracking.

I couldn't find anything by searching. Is this expected behaviour?
