Hi,I downloaded the new resole 15 beta and am trying to setup a 7.1 audio mix, however under the preferences audio page it wont let me add more than 2 channels, all the rest are un-assigned with no option. I have a Focusrite Sapphire Pro 40 with 10 audio outputs.Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS..I'm on windows 7 pro.Starting to think it might be only working in Win 10 ?

The device selected suggests you have a Saffire Audio device connected, not Focusrite Pro 40?

Hi Peter , Yes I meant Sapphire pro 40 made by Focusrite. Added Sapphire to the description. Thanks for pointing that out.

After scanning thru forum posts from Resolve 14 issues I found several people with the same issue (unresolved).
I think the issue is firewire devices because myself and these other resolve users have the exact same problem with more than 2 audio channels and all the interfaces are Firewire .For some reason I think that resolve wont detect more than 2 audio channels from firewire interfaces.

OK I think I'm onto something here.Could it be that Resolve doesn't use/support ASIO drivers?
If Fairlight is supposed to be a full functioning daw, It really needs to support Asio drivers.

No one else is chiming in so maybe my research on this issue will help others.

Yes, I've been asking for ASIO for a while ... However, I have to say that the new Native Audio option (Manual Mode) in DR15 provides a pretty nice workaround. Sees my RME UFX+ just fine using its WDM drivers.

I too have a question about monitoring: It would 'seem' that Resolve can only select one set of monitors at a time [?] & that is set in the main Audio I/O prefs: eg, say *either* a stereo pair or a 5.1 set. In 'physical' recording studios one selects between monitoring sources on the fly, say, Main, Nearfield, Surround etc.

While Resolve provides these same labels to create monitoring sets, it would appear that only one speaker configuration set can be used at at time, and also that this then applies to Resolve global preferences, ie, to all projects unless switched again. Is this correct?

What I've been wanting to do is mix & route tracks to multiple busses (eg a stereo bus and a 5.1 bus) like in other DAWs, but it would seem this is not possible without going back to the main Resolve prefs and switching the speaker configuration setup. Or am I missing something here?

Hi Paul. I'm not the person to answer the multiple speaker bussing question,I can't even get more than stereo out of fairlight !Hopefully BD will come up with an asio solution for us ..I have faith in those hard working people.

Have we heard any updates about ASIO support?

Just got my Saffire Pro 40 hooked up, and only seeing 2 outputs in Resolve. Would love an update or workaround.

Hi Peter,

Thank you for comfirming ASIO support is on the roadmap. It will help making a decision in buying a new computer for Resolve.

Kind regards,
Nick

Is there a workaround to get a 5.1 setup working?

I have a weird development on my setup. I don't know if this is a bug with 15, as I didn't have this setup on Windows for 14, but when I have my Decklink de-selected I have access to all my I/O for the Saffire Pro 40 and routed correctly, as seen in the picture. Once I turn on my Decklink 4K Extreme 6g, I lose access to all the I/O for the saffire and I am stuck with channel 1 & 2 only as my audio out. I would love for this to be a bug and be fixed, as it would solve everything. Please advise if this is an error of 15, or do I need to find a way to send the audio through my decklink... something I'm not looking forward to having to do as I have all the necessary equipment for a 5.1 setup straight out of my machine.

I just tried an install of 14.3, I am able to output via the decklink 4k and route all of my speakers properly through the saffire pro 40.

Please fix whatever went wrong in 15 please.

15 is total audio failure here as well as Resolve can't configure speakers except for default stereo due to lack of ASIO channel support. I have a Steinberg UR28M working great with ProTools, Cubase, Vegas, Audition but Resolve can't assign outputs to ASIO channels.

A real mess as pushing the app as suitable for audio post while lacking probably the most basic feature of DAW.
