Certainly AAF Avid->ProTools has been solid, as evidenced by the millions of turnovers done this way all over the world.
AAF Adobe->ProTools has some gotchas but also works.
Resolve will get there too (seems like they may already be).
Other DAWs vary in their ability to import AAF because turnovers to them are far far fewer - thus demand for implementation is lower. Chicken/egg situation too.
OMF is considerably older tech.
Stems have no handles or metadata from source clips, effects & levels either have to be removed and recreated from scratch or are burnt in. Can be useful for quick & dirty work but, for a proper mix of any kind, your mixer would really want an AAF/OMF.
