HDR10+ export

PostFri Apr 13, 2018 3:31 am

I'm trying to get the HDR10+ sidecar JSON file exported from Resolve Studio 15.

HDR10+ analysis seems to work but I haven't gotten the sidecar yet when delivering to MOV, MXF and IMF, with various codecs, either as timeline or shot-by-shot, with or without normal HDR10 metadata (that is, cfall and cll per frame, rather than the computed shot-by-shot JSON HDR10+ parameters).

Any tips? Thanks!

I think that hdr 10+ is not a finished product yet.

Hi Steve, Walter, (anyone at BMD ?)

I understand that HDR10+ tab is a work in progress, so I guess my comments below are more aimed at BMD, unless you can shed any light?

I can't understand what the numbers are on the HDR10+ tab?
I.e. "Anchor Point 1-9" ? What do these mean?

I would have expected to see MaxFALL, MaxCLL as numbers reported?
Perhaps MaxCLL split out by R,G,B ? (as that is how it is measured, linearised with gamma removed, perhaps compared with the non-linearised RGB value)
Plus also an option to make a straight HDR10 file, not HDR10+

And I would have expected these metadata to be inserted into the output file (MP4 or TS typically for HDR10, although TS is not an option on the Deliver page so it would have to be MP4). Along with mastering color primaries etc. - option to enter these? so that these can be inserted into the SEI data also?

Any insights would be appreciated.

Thanks

Tom
