Text Overlay Da Vinci 15

Ever since the update when I want to create a simple text overlay on either a video or picture. The video will play a black screen... when i pause the video the text will show up as I want it to..

How do I get it so that when i put text on top of a video or image.. it wont play as a black screen... this has now only happened..
PS: I have just started using this program so it may be a silly question :p

EDIT: I have figured it out! Simply click on the title and go to Inspector.. then it will show text or video, hit video and the first tab will show Composite... If the composite layer is on "normal" change the composite mode to "add"

I am also having the same issue. Any help would be appreciated. I put a text+ overlay but when I did that everything is black so I can't even see where I'm supposed to animate the text. I can see the text but any layer below is blacked out.

I am having the exact same problem but I am running 14.

In the preview I can see everything...text and pic. I play it and it goes black until the next clip.

I am new to using Davinci as well.

This worked for me, too. So, with this bug, there's no way to keep performance mode enabled. I'm not sure what I'm missing without performance mode because I can't tell the difference, but I spent hours troubleshooting this bug; so, I'm just happy to find a workaround to finally see my text overlays now.

Well i have the same problem in 15. The moment i add a new title clip the video above is black.
If i restart davinc it works. I also disbled performance mode.

Edit: Seems there was an update yesterday. Ill try that and report back if that changes the problem.
Edit: Update does not fix that here.

I see you said "the video above is black". Try putting the title clip above the video so that it becomes the top layer.
