Here are some things that might ease your pain:
1. You can make the media Pool panel in every tab(except the color tab) stretch from the top to the bottom of the screen and plenty wide enough to see all the details you want. You can also rearrange the details to get the ones you care about most up front.
2. You can open a bin in a new window and make it full screen. (It would be nice to customize the size that it opens at and not have to resize it everytime.)
Here is the problem that I have with Premiere Pro especially with long form work. While you can customize the panel layout, the interface design inside the panels is terrible. The constant need to twirl down menus to get to the controls breaks my flow and slows things down significantly. Lumetri color is crippled by this. I feel that this incurs allot more wrist movement and finger action than looking at clip details in the media pool.
The color interface in Davinci Resolve has great flow and and keeps the essential controls for the task much more at your fingertips. I believe this is true for the other tabs as well.
I agree that hitting one key to make a panel go full screen would be nice. I am optimistic that BMD is working hard to make DR not just affordable but the best option out there. Now that BMD has added everything including the kitchen sink into resolve with a pretty darn good implementation, I can only imagine how quickly they will refine it.
I offer these tips and thoughts sincerely as I don't know your knowledge level in Resolve. You may have already be aware of all of this.
