Burning to DVD

PostWed Apr 25, 2018 7:57 am

I am sorry for this but I have read the forums and it appears that Apple is the way to go. But I am on Win 10 with DaVinci 14 and I am ready to render the timeline so that it can be burned to a Blue Ray. I understand that I need a burning software but I can not seem to set the render to fit a Blue Ray format which will play on a standard Blue Ray DVD player. The AVI does not provide video only audio? The MPEG 4 shows well on the monitor but very low quality on a DVD. Can anyone help me to suggest a proper export for DVD burning on a window 10 platform and perhaps a compatible during software? Thank you all so very much.

If it is a DVD that you intend to make, here are the video and audio specs. Open the images in a new tab to see them properly.
Resolve Studio 20.0 build 49
Dell XPS 8700 i7-4790, 24GB RAM, 2 x Evo SSDs, GTX1060/6GB (572.16 Studio Driver), Win10 Home, Speed Editor, Faderport 1, Calibrated Eizo ColorEdge CS230 + BenQ & Samsung monitors for UI, Canon C100mk2, Zoom H2n.

First, DVD and Blu-ray are two very different things. You can't use the terms interchangeably.

Second, you need more than just burning software, you need Authoring software. I'm partial to the following.

http://blu-disc.net/

Finally, I would recommend exporting out a Master copy of the timeline and using a separate video converter to make the video stream you'll need for authoring. I like the free MeGUI, though is does have something of a learning curve.
My Biases:

You NEED training.
You NEED a desktop.
You NEED a calibrated (non-computer) display.
