I'm trying to track text to an object in a video and the text is translating much faster than the tracking point. How I set up the tracking:

- Text filter, white text, resize -> New Composite Clip (multiply)
- Tracker in stabilizer mode, classic stabilizer, point tracker, deselect zoom
- Add point, track forward/backward, check that it moves properly
- Copy tracking, select text composite clip, paste tracking
- Click stabilize

When I play through the video, the tracking point is where it's supposed to be, but the text goes flying past.

Where did I go wrong here?

I haven't used Resolve yet. Are you talking about a tracker inside of Resolve or did you use the Fusion page?

The tracker inside resolve from the "color" tab. I've got it to sorta work for the clip I was working on by reducing the strong value to about -50, but I'd like to be able to do it properly in the future.
