Background noise on clean clips

PostFri Apr 27, 2018 11:09 am

I have upgraded to betab2 today. When I play clips on the timeline I now hear a fluttering sound in the background of the titles and camera clips when I play the timeline. It seems to be in time with frame edges. On silent passages, I can see the audio fluttering around the -40dB on Fairlight screen but audible on monitors.
Clips are MTS/H264 sourced HD 1920*1080 50i and do not exhibit similar extraneous sound when I revert back to Edius with the same clips/timeline set up which I am using to evaluate Resolve as NLE of choice.
I have changed the audio block size to 2048 from auto, made no difference.

Win 10 64bit; Intel I7-3770K 3.5GHz; 16Gb memory; GTX 1080ti display adaptor; on-board NVIDIA HiDef audio Decklink mini monitor; Rauch P-120 main monitor quality audio amp, Fostex audio mixer; Sony monitor speakers

That's exactly what i am hearing too here.
Unfortunately they render like this as well. I made another thread about this exact same problem:

Sound clips are played fine in the media page viewer.

Further to my post, if I scrub the cursor over any part of the screen display, I can hear a background, low-level crackle and that applies to all pages including playing clips with no sound on any page. Is this new? I don't remember having the same problem in v14.

Same for me. I noticed since Beta 2. I'm not sure about Beta 1.
The movement of the timeline scrubber makes creaky extraneous sounds. These are not part of the exported test video. Even a screen animation does not record this noise.

Chances of having a link to a "small" piece from a problematic clip? (I'm curious because I never had that.) Thank you.

OK, have now output from the timeline to an mp4 with the fluttering noise within Resolve 15 and glad to say, all quiet on the output file. It is off-putting to hear this noise while editing, I was trying noise reduction and equalisation to try and suppress it. What you hear through my excellent monitors while in any page should be as good as the rendered output.
Can this be fixed?
