MP4 Import Files have strange color bars on top

Hello everybody,

I have to admit I am a complete newbie to resolve (used some other videoeditors before but was never quite satisfied).
From what I can say Resolve looks very promising but as soon as I try to import some footage from my android smartphone (Xiaomi Redmi Note 4) I always have these strange color bars on top of the video and completely off colors in the rest of the frame (see attached).
These don't appear on footage from any other of my devices (GoPro, DJI Mavic, Canon DSLRs...)
I spent more than an hour to find a solution to this but didn't have any luck.
Happens on the free versions of Resolve 14 and 15 beta under Windows 10.
Any ideas?

Many smartphones don't record with constant frame rates and that can mean trouble with most NLEs.

What's your format and how much VRAM do you have?

Hi Uli,

the clips in question are H264 - MPEG-4 AVC with 29.831170 fps
VRAM on my GPU (GTX1070) is 8GB.
