HP z8 single cpu vs HP z840 dual cpu

PostTue May 01, 2018 6:52 pm

hello

I'm Looking for info regarding best setup for DavinciResolve

in the new reference for #15
the new Z8 with dual gold 6132

Its too expensive for me :(
I thought to buy it with one CPU and in the future add another if I would need it

in your experience is it a wise decision?

is it wiser to buy an old Z840 with 2 CPU instead?

thanks

if you can see yourself using Fusion n Resolve much, i'd go with z840/2x 2697v4's

although the color page is very GPU dependant, the Fusion page uses CPU mainly, and dual 2697v4's are nearly twice as fast as a single 6132 in passmark, some things like a credit roll renders scale to match the CPU...
