Davinci Decklink Mini monitor 4K no output

Hi,
I bought a Decklink mini monitor 4K and it's not working properly with Davinci.
Weird thing is that it outputs video just fine on Premiere everytime I turn output on.
But no signal on Davinci.
I also tried with BM media express and sometimes it works but not always.
it looks like there is some software issue, but very random, I got a warning window only once "Failed to enable video output mode = 32347073"
HDMI cable is fine, I reinstalled everything, and I even try with different versions of Desktop video with no luck.
Davinci Studio Version 14.3.0.014
My system is a Mac Pro 2010 OSX 10.11.6 Nvidia TitanX 64Gb
Any ideas what could be the problem?
I'm quite new to Davinci, I don't know what else to try.
Thanks

In Resolve Preferences - System - Video and Audio I/O - make sure the Mini Monitor is selected as the Capture and Playback device.
Make sure no other apps that can also use the Mini Monitor are running.
The error you got once implies Resolve was talking to the Mini Monitor, but something in the Video Monitoring settings was set to something the Mini Monitor is not capable of doing.
Make sure the settings in Video Monitoring are set to something your attached display can actually work with.

Thanks Dwaine,
yes, I got all my apps closed and I checked the output.
It looks that the problem was something to do with the bit. It was on 10bit, I changed to 8 and it worked. then I changed back to 10bit and it keeps working. Very weird.
It must be something I'm doing wrong. but now it's working.
Thanks.

Well.... it's not working anymore. so weird. I was able to fixed it a couple of times, switching bit depth and even turning playback to none and back to Decklink mini monitor 4k (i read that on another post you replied too) but now I can't make it work.
The most weird thing is that it works perfectly with premiere pro. I being editing all day, 24fps HD no problem. now I need to do color on this project and there is no way I can output video with davinci.
I upgrade to Davinci 15, but it didn't help I also upgrade to the last desktop video setup but still nothing....
Any ideas?
I will have to finish this project with lumetri in premiere, but I would really want to fix it. I bought the card for resolve.
if you think anything else I can do let me know. Thanks

I would need a Resolve diagnostic log and your System Info .spx file to speculate further.

You don't have the Mini Monitor 4K card enabled in Resolve.
Go to Resolve Preferences - System - Video and Audio I/O.
You should see that "For capture and playback use:" is set to None.
Set it to the Mini Monitor 4K.
Then save the prefs, and restart Resolve.
Now is it working?

Hi Dwaine,
No, sorry is not that. I was setting it on and off to see if it works and it looks like the last log was when it was set to none. but yes I know that.
another thing it might help to diagnose is that Blackmagic media express doesn't output video either. I tried 24fps, PAL NTSC. but no luck.
the decklink video desktop, it is changing according to each video frame output dough.
Do you need another log with the mini monitor selected ?
Thanks for your time, I really need help on this

I was facing a similar issue with Mini Monitor 4K once I upgraded from Mini Monitor HD.
The display was coming in colour page, but not on edit page. My trouble shooting was like this:
1. Select the Mini Monitor in Video I/O section.
2. Set your timeline in the resolution you want. In my case it was 2048x858
3. Go to Desktop video setting. In Mac it comes in System preference, in Windows it must be somewhere. Set the resolution to 4K (by default mine was showing HD).
4. Go to image scaling option in the Resolve Settings. Since my reference monitor is 1920x1200 resolution, I unchecked the "Match Timeline Settings" option, set the monitoring to HD and then chose "Full frame with Crop" option.
Everything is working fine now.
Further suggestions from my common sense:
1. If your reference monitor is 4K, I think you can keep "match timeline settings" on. If not, you have to use the "image scaling" option in settings.
2. If your timeline setting is more than 4K, then you'll probably face some problem as the Mini Monitor 4K can handle upto 4K. In that case, you'll have to use the "image scaling" option yet again.

Thanks Krishna,
I tried your method but it didn't work for me.
Something is not working, maybe is the PCI card or sometihng in the software. Now it's not even working with premiere. No output. it doesn't matter what options I choose. I even reinstall everything including Davinci resolve.
So weird. maybe the Mini monitor 4k is defective?

This is driving me crazy.... it has to be a software issue or I'm too stupid to realise what I'm doing wrong... could be both.
I delete preference because nothing was working, I opened Davinci project and it worked! but.... another crazy issue, it only works on the first project I opened and nothing else, now premiere is not working. And i did a new project, I think is exact same settings but it doesn't output anything.
here are the projects, one is working the other one is not....
https://wetransfer.com/downloads/e2f420 ... 415/af92b8I just don't understand what's going on

The only obvious difference is that on the working project, you have "Use 4:4:4 SDI" selected in Video Monitoring.
If you turn on 4:4:4 SDI monitoring on the non-working project, does that make it work?

Yes. !
but, why? I'm not using SDI. the monitor is connected to HDMI output.
should I try, premiere now? I'm in the middle of a grading. afraid to try....

Resolve doesn't have ANY direct control of the HDMI output of our I/O products.
But generally, changing the SDI settings will have a similar effect on the HDMI output, if present.
So selecting 4:4:4 mode is obviously changing the HDMI output, but normally, most displays, in my experience would be happier in 4:2:2 mode than 4:4:4 mode.
Your display apparently is different. I don't know if the display itself may have any settings that would affect this.
If selecting 4:4:4 makes things happy, then go with it.

Thanks Dwaine,
it's working now. And switching from Premiere back to Resolve it refresh the screen and playback is good on both softwares.
I think Premiere applies a gamma shift like quicktime when playbacks with BM mini monitor thru mercury playback but is all good. since I'm doing color in resolve checking the scopes but actually grading for web
