Clip timecode displayed doesn't match source timecode

I've just noticed that all the clips I imported into my media pool are displaying strange start times. Rather than 00:00;00, which is the initial time code of each clip (I've checked), Resolve is displaying some abritary number, anywhere from a few seconds in to several minutes, as in 3:40;18 . This is the TC I see displayed at the beginning of the clip in the Viewer and when I check that clip's properies in the media.
Any idea that is happening and how I can instruct Resolve TC to start at 00:00;00.
Thanks.
John

I'm just wondering.... All the clips I'm talking about are from captured HDV tapes. When capturing these tapes it invaraibly takes a few seconds after hitting capture before the computer begins its work. Is it possible then that Resolve is showing the actual timecode associated with each frame, while the timecode displayed when I look at that clip separately outside of Resolve is the one that's wrong. That is, regardless of the fact that the capture may not have begun until, let's say, 00:03;12, this viewing will show the clip beginning at 00:00;00?
Think I may have figured out my own problem.
Thanks.

I think that's a good guess.
You could go into Clip Attributes and manually type in the correct timecode number.

Thanks Marc.
Think I'll put one of those tapes back into a camera and find the beginning of a shot then compare that timecode with what Resolve is showing. If it's the same I'll know my answer. if it's different I'll do as you suggest, but my bet at this point is that Resolve is correct.
