Colour related problem

PostWed May 02, 2018 9:21 pm

Hi All,
My problem is: I have some video footage (a figure dancing across the screen - from left to right). I have green screened the background out & now want to reduce the isolated figure (in full colour on a transparent Alpha background) to a black outline. The colour controls in Resolve are pretty complex & I have been experimenting quite a lot before I decided to seek advice on the Forum, but any advice on reducing my footage (if at all possible) to a black outline would be most gratefully received.
Many thanks in advance.

Try to switch on Monochrome on RGB Mixer tab then lower white point in Curves (make white line horizontal to bottom).

Hi Sergey

.
I did as you suggested above, in Resolve, but had to then reprocess the footage through VideoPad to achieve an outline effect (one of their filter options). Would much prefer to do everything in Resolve though.

But thanks very much for that. Very helpful.
