Is it possible to print media page?

PostFri May 04, 2018 11:16 pm

Hi.

In organizing work it would be a great help if I could copy and print all the madia information (clip name, times, roll names, etc.) Is there anyway to do this within Resolve? (I'd try a screen grab but I can't reduce the Resolve page to give me access to my screen grab program located in the program icons at the bottom of the screen.) Maybe Resolve allows screen grabs?

Thanks.

You can export the metadata out from the Media Pool as a CSV, for whatever clips you have selected.

Hi.

Thanks for the response. Just tried exporting the CSV file. It certainly works but it exports much more than I need and doesn't seem to allow me to reorganize its columns.

The situation I'm facing is this. I'm working on a project with another person. We each have the media on our hard drives. My partner has been going through the media at his end, taking notes, as have I at my end. In my case I've been doing it in Resolve, he has been viewing the rolls as QuickTime MOV files. So, to coordinate we need to have the same list of all the media and we need that list (only of clip name and roll name) in the order that it was captured. Resolve diplayes it that way; I was able to select the date modified column and instruct that the clips/rolls to be listed in that descending chronoligical order. This is the same way the media is organized on our repective hard drives as well.

So after this long-winded explanation - sorry - I'm left wondering if there is a way through or within a CSV file to selectively order its contents. As I say, right now the first column is organized alphabetically and I can't seem to find a way to change that. Plus, besides clip names it contains a of of other data that I'd have to somehow remove.

Thank again.

The easiest way is to open an EXCEL sheet and import the CSV as comma delimited data.

Then you can sort all the data in any desired direction.
There are surely other solutions. :)

A CSV can be opened in Excel or another similar spreadsheet app. You can manipulate that data however you want.
