Render Queue bug

PostMon May 07, 2018 9:28 pm

I'm setting up a Render Queue in single clip mode and audio only. Selecting different parts of the same timeline and render out to individual files - audio mixdowns. I got about 26 segments in the render queue. I noticed when I render each job one by one manually selecting each it renders quite fast, about 1000 frames per second - that is audio only. But when I select all jobs it dramatically slows down after the first job, it renders in small bursts and then pauses, about 1/10 of the render speed if I render each job individually.

Resolve 14b2, Windows, GTX1080TI

PS: It may not be related to the queue, it happens with single job rendering too. Its a random extreme slow down thing - nothing to do with drive speed. But I have only seen it with audio only renders. I can't discover any clues why it switches from fast to slow.

CPU is 10-15%, disc activity around 2%, when it is in snail mode
when not, CPU is 47% and GPU at 45% (why would it need the GPU when rendering audio??)

The only source media used are MXF files rendered out of Avid with 8 audio tracks, but only one stereo track on the timeline.
