Hi,
In preparing to quit the Adobe overpriced, buggy and under performing suite, I've been editing on the free version Resolve for a year now and am very happy. Not only are the editing and colour tools stable and intuitive but because, in that time I've seen a couple of incredible leaps forward in terms of development.

I'm preparing to purchase Studio but want to be sure my current edit projects will not be affected.
Anyone running multiple installs on Win10 out there?
I'm also unclear on the situation re dongle / activation code.

Only one instance of Resolve should be installed at any time.
Back up your projects first. Then install the free or Studio version.
Upgrade from free to studio at the same version level is seamless.
Upgrading a version level often needs DB update in which case the extra backup is good practice.

If you want to try the new version, the best solution is a dual-boot.
