CPU and GPU combination

Total Newby to Resolve here. I get that using AMD and Nvidia GPU together are not doable. Will an AMD CPU combined with a Nvidia GPU work. I'm about to upgrade in order to use Resolve and want to know if and how my choices are limited.

Yes, as long as the AMD CPU is a relatively recent one (last couple of years).

If you are already using the AMD CPU and looking to install an NVIDIA GPU, that should be fine.

Nothing inherently wrong there. There are several users here (myself included) that use Threadripper processors with NVIDIA GPUs.

Yes a AMD Threadripper CPU togetter with a nVidea GPU will work very well together.

AMD did anounce the next generation of the Threadripper CPU back in january. It is expected 2nd half of 2018 ( early ).

And there is a lot of rumors on the internet of the next generation of nVideas graphics cards. I expect it around this summer.
