Advice on exporting audio for mixing in Logic

So, having read through all of the topics I could find on audio export I see there is no way to get the audio I've used on my timeline to export with the FCP XML. It will always use the source audio. Got it.

The fact remains I have made all kinds of cuts and audio trims on my timeline with secondary, quality audio that are not easily replicable. This is for a personal project and not a client so the audio needn't be studio caliber as I'm experimenting with things, but I need to do a lot work involving plugins, automation etc.

I have tried using Fairlight for the above, but the behavior has been VERY unreliable for me (plugins —even the native ones— don't always work, levels don't adjust with faders etc) so I've given up on it for now.

I only own Logic (as well as Final Cut Pro X) and cannot buy a new piece of software at present SO the only option seemingly available to me is to completely bypass XML and do this:

1) export AUDIO ONLY wav files with each track soloed
2) export a video reference file
3) bring all into Logic
4) edit, mix, master audio accordingly
5) export wav from Logic (either full mix or individual tracks again)
6) import back into DVR

Anyone have any improvements on this plan for someone who is essentially locked into DVR, FCPX and LPX?

Thanks in advance.
