Resolve 15.0.0b.046 stays in task bar after project window

Dear Forum,

first post in this forum because of a problem with resolve that haunts me since the last version Davinci 14 and now appears to be the same in Beta3 and appearently in Beta4 of DaVinci 15. Running on Windows 10. Hope someone will be able to help.

After opening DaVinci it proceeds without any problem to the Project Page, DaVinci 15 even asked me to upgrade my databank which worked fine aswell. When I am selecting a project from here the window disappears but nothing reappears. At the same time the task bar and the task manager show the program running. If im hovering over the logo in the task bar it does not show a small window but just a grey bar. I can only select to close Resolve from here. Going to the alt+shift window just shows a blank frame with resolve heading but no content. Moving the window by arrow keys is not possible.

Tried many troubleshots for similar but not totally same problems that people had with DaVinci in the past. Nothing worked for me.

Maybe someone will be able to help me. Just bought one of the last classic BMPCC out there and can´t really use it without DaVinci.

Your crashes seem related to this:

kernelbase.dll

I've not seen that in relation to Resolve crashing before. You can Google kernelbase.dll and see various solutions for solving the issue, which may or may not help you.

I'll also mention that the minimum system memory for Resolve 15 is 16GB, and your system has 8GB.

However, since you were also having this issue with Resolve 14.0.1, I don't suspect system memory to be related to this crashing issue.

Usually when only one person has a particular problem, over multiple versions of software, it's the person's computer causing the problem. Back when I was using Premiere Pro I'd go to the creative cow Premiere Pro forum, and there would be dozens of posts listing a particular problem and nobody following up, because they weren't experiencing it. I had quite a few of those posts as well.

I'd look further into what Dwaine told you regarding kernelbase.dll for starters. Not to mention 8 gigs of RAM.
