Problems round-tripping audio with Avid and (*) in Audio

PostThu May 31, 2018 7:34 am

I am trying to do some audio work in Fairlight but having trouble connecting to the proper media.

Here is my workflow:
1) Bring the RAW media (camera and external audio) into Resolve sync and link audio (replace not append tracks)
2) Export the media out as individual files.
3) Edit with that new media in Avid
4) Export an AAF out of Avid
5) Import that AAF back into DaVinci

Here is where I am running into the problem. The audio does not seem to come over properly, I think what is happening is that the AAF is linking to the RAW media embedded tracks and not using the sync'd external audio. Is this possible? Does anyone know if this the intended result or am I doing something wrong?

Also I think I saw this somewhere in a different post but can anyone tell me what the (*) means in the audio tracks? I think that means it is linked audio but I am not 100% sure.
