Moving Fusion comp distorts frame size

PostThu May 31, 2018 11:47 pm

I compd the green screen of the interview subject here and in the edit page, placed another background video clip underneath (replacing the green screen). I just wanted to move the interview subject to the left some more, so in the edit page I changed the X position. And instead of moving just the interview subject to the left, it seems to have cropped the right side of the frame, leaving that black bar. So somehow, moving the X position of a fusion clip in the edit page throws off the frame size somehow. The background video clip fills the frame. Even though I made no adjustments to that clip, moving the fusion clip created that black bar. Hopefully you see what Im saying.

Nobody has any suggestions? I thought this was supposed to be fixed on beta 4 or beta 5 but now in beta 6 this is still an issue. What is going on? Am I doing something wrong? It doesnt matter if I pan the clip on the edit page or inside the color page -- I often get the black bar on the side of the frame as I move the clip to the side (left or right).

When using the 3D Keyer it selects the green, but treats the edge of the frame as a object, rather than inheriting it as an alpha channel. So when I go to invert the green screen key, it adds a black bar to the side that I cannot get rid of -- thus preventing me from being able to move the interviewee to screen right or left.

Try cropping the green screen clip just slightly in the inspector on the Edit page. I seem to recall someone reporting something similar and just making a slight adjustment in the inspector caused the alpha channel to be applied to the area outside the frame. It’s also possible I simply dreamt this
Microsoft Windows 10 Pro x64
Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-6700, 3.40GHz, 32.0 GB

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960, 2Gb

Thanks. Finally found a work-around by adding a power window and inverting the mask and placing it over the side bar. It gets me by. Seems like Resolve should read areas outside the clip dimensions as an alpha by default.
