Bug / Feature Request - Linking Audio on AAF import

PostTue Jun 05, 2018 8:40 am

When using DaVinci for dailies and finishing but editing in an outside program there is a problem when roundtripping audio that has been linked in DaVinci.

If the external audio is equal to or less than the number of embedded clips then the audio all comes over as embedded. If the external audio has more tracks then the embedded audio then all clips are muted except for the first track.

I realize that there are reasons why you might want to have the default to link to the embedded audio regardless of the clips settings, but I might be nice if there was an option to change this when importing the AAF.

Could I ask if you have tried adjusting the audio clip attributes after linking?

Both embedded and linked audio - regardless of their formats are available there, and it allows you to decide whether you want one or both or a custom format.

I am aware that this is how you can fix the problem. I am requesting this as a feature so that it comes over properly in the first place.
