Is a scale drawing of the Advanced Panel available? I'm thinking about a custom desk for it.

The info we publish is in the config guide, on the support page of the BMD site.

The drawing in the guide isn't really helpful if you want to recess the panels into the tabletop.

For that, I think you have to hire a carpenter and have them measure and cut accordingly. We may be about to do that in a couple of weeks, and if we do, I'll post a link to the final drawings.

watch out for crunched knees, with the panel set to be level with the surface of the desk, and with needed support built in the end game is unworkable unless the leading edge of the panel is far enough away to clear knees, making too long reach to the knobs

it may work if all the artists have shorter legs... for someone with 36" inseam, it's not a great fit

Yes, that's a concern. That's why I hoped there is a scale drawing with detailed measurements.

Standard desks are about 29" high, and if you inset the DaVinci Advanced Panels down about 3" into that, it shouldn't hit your knees.

when it had a cage to hold it up, it was def hitting my knees

i was freelanceing at the facility, they decided to change the table, remove the insert, and put the surface back on the desktop

it would depend on what structural support is needed, that desk had a plywood box around the surface, so i was not hitting the surface, i was hitting a plywood box needed to hold the surface

maybe with a strong / thin metal or carbonfiber support cantlevered out from the rear, and foam padding on the front?

The panel has lips or a brim or whatever you call this extension around the body that can rest on the surface so no bottom support is needed. It will actually improve the angle your wrists are forced to twist into.
