Use Rec2100 HLG footage.

1. Deselect 'Use Separate Color Space and Gamma'
2. Set Input Color Space to Rec.2100
3. Set Timeline Color Space to Rec.2100
4. Set Output Color Space to Rec.709 (optionally use output gamut mapping)

This works fine.

1. Change Timeline Color Space to Linear

Colors will be off (Linear Timeline is using Rec709 without linear light transformation?)

1. Now select 'Use Separate Color Space and Gamma'
2. Set Timeline Color Space Gamut to Rec.2020.

This works fine again

1. Now deselect 'Use Separate Color Space and Gamma'

Colors will be off again (gamut changes back to Rec709?)

1. Now change Rec.2100 Input Color Space to Rec.2100 (Scene)
2. Deselect 'Use Separate Color Space and Gamma'
2. Set Timeline Color Space to Linear

Linear light transformation to Rec.709 is now handled correctly.

Here is a related example using Rec2020 gamut:

Now that works fine! But now deselect the 'Use Separate Color Space and Gamma', nothing should change, right?

But notice the gamut shift by observing a change in the image. It is subtle and small, but nevertheless, it is there. Note that nothing is out of gamut, the vectorscope values are zoomed in to see the changes better.
