[Feature request] Clip speed tool

The clip speed dialog in DaVinci Resolve is pretty awkward to work with. Without visual feedback on the timeline, it's mostly a guessing game. A dedicated tool that sits next to the Razor on the coveted editing toolbar specifically for adjusting the clip speed directly on the timeline by dragging the edges of a clip would greatly improve that particular workflow.

I view clip speed adjustment as an essential editing tool for any video production - for example, getting some people who are walking during a background music track to line up correctly so that their feet land right on the beat. Another example is to speed up a really slow section to an acceptable level to keep an audience interested. It's best to nail it during recording, of course, but that almost never happens. Sometimes I'll wind up dragging clips into Sony Vegas just to get the job done as it has a built-in timeline tool for this task - the Ctrl key - which makes clip speed adjustments a 1st class citizen in Vegas. The clip speed dialog is still useful for specifying pitch correction and other related tasks but changing the clip speed itself is a highly visual and subjective experience.

Well I didn't know about that option. Exactly what I needed. Thanks.

Oh. My. Goodness. I still can't believe I missed the retime option. All of the video tutorials I ran into showed the Clip Speed dialog so I assumed that was all there was.

Quick question: Is there a way to lock all speed points except for the one I am changing?

Grab the top of the speed point, not the bottom.

That’s why it’s always best to read the manual
