Your GPU Memory is full (Help!)

PostMon Jun 11, 2018 8:25 pm

I'm somewhat new to Resolve, but I've been working on it for a few months and completed a couple of projects without problems.

However, I'm in the middle of my fourth project, and suddenly Resolve is telling me that my GPU storage is full when I try to add a new clip, even just a small, static image.

Seeing as I've completed three projects without issue, I reason there must be a way to clean out my GPU storage so that I can keep working. Can anyone tell me how to do that? (I'm not looking to get more GPU memory, just clear out what I have.)

If it helps:

Processor: 1.3 GHz Intel Core i5
Memory: 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: Intel HD Graphics 5000 1536 MB

It's not GPU storage, it's GPU memory. Memory or RAM is fast, temporary storage that programs run in. Memory generally doesn't store things for a program when the program isn't open and memory is completely cleared when ever your computer is turned off.

You're getting that message because the effects and the project that you have open are simply using all of your GPU with more memory (the 1.5GB of your Intel integrated graphics is very low for a lot of editing as is your system memory) or the quicker solution would be to either lower your timeline resolution while editing or go to Playback > Proxy Mode and then pick half or quarter resolution.
