Text objects tripping up playback in Resolve

FINALLY upgraded my computer at home. No longer on my MacBook Pro w an eGPU, but now on a 16-core, 64GB RAM windows PC with my 980 Ti now INSIDE my computer in a PCIe slot! (What a concept!!)
Playback performance in Resolve is MUCH better for the most par. ProRes 4k clips playback at full res no problem. Some graphics and h.264 clips still cause dropped frames
The real problem comes in when I have text (created in Resolve's titler) on top of the video. Nothing fancy, just a a simple sentence, with a small drop shadow. Just the addition of this text will cause Resolve to go from smooth playback to instantly dropping frames. Not just a few dropped frames, but making the video jittery. And when I go into the color page, playback is even much much worse. I get a solid 14-15fps. When I go back to the edit page, disable my text layer, go back to the color page and playback the video, instantly the dropped frames are gone and I have full 24fps playback and can grade in real-time. So my point is, that something with the text is really tripping up playback performance in Resolve. (even in "performance mode.") Not sure what it is, but I'm fairly sure its unnecessary! Resolve should be able to handle a text layer in real-time no problem.
