Would having the Project server on the network along with other assets in shared locations, but having the footage each person is working with on local drives mounted the same letter work? i'm running a windows environment, and have access to fast local storage, i understand if everything is not synced footage could be offline, but is there any internal issues with Resolve just recognizing a drive letter that's the same on every artists computer for access to the same footage?
This is specifically a question when working with shared projects over a network connection.

There is something within the preferences that goes back to at least V12 that allows you to remap paths on each individual workstation. You can even use it to remap paths across different OS.

Works fine , as long as you take care of syncing the local files yourselve its all good. And if you miss a file it will tell you.
You can even map mismatched paths , but its better as you noted to keep drive letters and folder paths identical. Just some extra administration.
